Second Announcement and Call for Papers


General information

The 5th International Conference on X-ray Lasers will be held in Lund, Sweden. The conference will be devoted to the progress in the field of X-ray lasers, related techniques and applications. The following topics will be included:

Laser-plasma X-ray lasers
Discharge-pumped X-ray lasers
X-ray laser optics
Coherence studies
Alternative sources of coherent X-rays
X-ray laser applications

The conference is sponsored by the Quantum Electronics and Optics Division, EPS.

Call for papers

Contributed papers in the above areas are requested for oral presentation or poster presentation. Please send a one-page abstract in a form suitable for direct reproduction (white paper with the text within an area of 15 cm x 23 cm, preferably single-spaced, Times 12P). If you have a preference for oral or poster presentation, specify this on the back of the abstract page.

A book of abstracts accepted for presentation will be distributed to the participants at the conference. A speedy publication of the conference proceedings is planned, for which details will be sent out later.


The deadline for submission of contributed papers is March 31, 1996

Registration

In order to receive the Third and Final Announcement, print out the interest form and return it by mail or fax before December 15, 1995. The Third and Final Announcement will be mailed early 1996 and will contain details on the program, a registration form and a room reservation form.

Accomodation

Rooms at a number of hotels in the city of Lund, all within convenient distance of the conference, located at the University Place, have been reserved for the conference participants. The room prices per night range from 300 Swedish crowns (SEK) to 1100 SEK. Presently 1 US $ = 7 SEK.

Travel information

Lund can easily be reached, either by air to Copenhagen, Denmark + a 40-minute boat trip to Malmö, Sweden + 20 km by train or taxi to Lund. Alternatively, there are some flights directly to Malmö, Sturup Airport, followed by a 30 km bus or taxi trip to Lund.

Conference fee

The conference fee amounts to 1800 SEK. It includes the book of abstracts, the conference proceedings, coffee, lunches, the conference dinner and an excursion.
